Information Regarding the Merger of the 32BJ CT Pension Fund into the 32BJ Pension Fund
We are pleased to notify you of the merger of the 32 BJ Connecticut Pension Fund (“Plan”) with the Building Service 32BJ Pension Fund (“32BJ Pension Fund”) effective July 1, 2026. The two pension funds will now operate as one fund. Former Plan participants will now participate in “Program CT” of the 32BJ Pension Fund.
As a former member of the Plan, you have automatically become a participant in Program CT of the 32BJ Pension Fund. You may continue to contact Member Services at 800-551-3225 for information about your pension benefits.
If you are currently working in covered employment, the merger of the plans will not reduce any benefits that you earned under the Plan, and benefits you will earn as a participant of Program CT of the 32BJ Pension Fund will be added to the benefits you already earned under the Plan.
In addition, under the terms of merger:
Program CT participants who have credit for hours of service towards participation in the Plan will be credited with those hours of service towards participation in Program CT of the 32BJPension Fund. Program CT participants will maintain the same vesting and service credit under Program CT as they had under the Plan.
If you were a retiree or a beneficiary in receipt of benefits from the Plan, you will not see a change of interruption in your benefits because of the merger.
